Published October 29, 2026 · OpsRecipes are tested patterns, not vendor endorsements.

Outcome: A simple internal web app showing cost per plate and food-cost % for top menu items, updating as ingredient prices change.

What you need

  • Google Sheet: ingredients (unit, latest price) and recipes (ingredient, qty, menu price)
  • Lovable account
  • Optional: the invoice price-alert recipe feeding the price sheet

Steps

  1. Prompt Lovable: 'Build an internal dashboard that reads ingredients and recipes data and shows cost per plate, food-cost % and margin per menu item, sorted by worst food-cost %.'
  2. Upload or connect your data (CSV import or a connected database); check the math on 3 dishes by hand.
  3. Ask for a 'what if' slider: change an ingredient price and see affected dishes.
  4. Add a red flag when food-cost % exceeds your target (e.g., 30%).
  5. Share the private link with the chef and GM; refresh prices weekly.
Watch out: Keep it internal and access-controlled; verify the formulas yourself before acting on them.

Check your company's data and AI policies before sending guest or vendor data to any third-party tool.
